We are eagerly awaiting the start of the 2020-21 school year. This year has already presented its unique challenges, however I am confident we are ready to restart in the safest manner possible.

I would like to personally thank our staff for all their efforts and work leading up to the first day. Prior to the first day of school, they have spent many hours collaborating and building skills to become a more dynamic educator.

I have included two video links that were created to inform our students and families on what to expect the first days of school. The first link is specific to returning students while the second is specific to incoming or new students. Please review at your convenience:

Below are a few upcoming dates and/or reminders:
• September 18: Deadline for schedule changes
• September 22: Interim reports mailed home for D’s and F’s
• October 9: Fall Picture day for both face-to-face learners as well as Tornado Academy students.

Please be reminded of our driveway located off Shepherd Drive. This access point is a one-lane drive that will alleviate some of the traffic and delays that occur on the morning and afternoon commutes. Please know that only those traveling north on Shepherd Drive are permitted to use the new driveway. Those who are traveling south on Shepherd Drive will not have access to either the old driveway or new driveway. The former driveway will be used as an exit point with one lane for drivers turning right on Shepherd Drive and one lane for drivers turning left on Shepherd Drive. Additionally, when dropping students off in the morning, please pull your vehicle up near the bike rack. Doing so will help improve the flow of traffic entering and exiting the rear parking lot.

If you wish to contact me regarding any matter that is important to you, please contact me at 419-447-3358. I can also be reached by email at shawn_murphy@tiffincityschools.org.

Have a great September!
