UPDATED Self-Quarantine Guidelines from ODH/Seneca Co. Health Dept.

October 27, 2021
TCS Families,Attached you will find the most up to date guidelines regarding quarantine procedures for classroom or school-related exposures from ODH/Seneca County Health Department. The most significant changes from what we were doing here in Seneca County at the beginning of October are:1. Students and staff that have been exposed in the classroom setting or in a school-related activity (i.e., extracurricular activities associated with the school they attend) all have the opportunity to “mask to stay” in school. The most common exception will be those students and staff with positive cases within their own households; they must quarantine at home. There will be other exceptions to these “mask to stay” provisions- like students exposed at a church function, sleepover, or an after-school party.2. Monitoring for symptoms is the responsibility of parents (or staff, if they are exposed). Monitoring should continue the entire 14-day period, even if the person meets the criteria to discontinue other quarantine procedures on Day 8.3. Students can participate in athletics and other extracurricular activities if they follow both the “mask to stay” and “test to play” procedures described in this 2-sided document. If parents/students are not willing to have their child tested, they do not meet the “test to play” requirements and can’t participate until they meet the CDC modified quarantine requirements (10 days without symptoms and no testing). We still have high community transmission of COVID-19 in Seneca County, and our numbers are not dropping as fast as they are in the rest of Ohio. We will need to be patient with one another as we work through applying these new criteria to the unique situations that come up. Thank you for your continued patience and perseverance as we continue through this difficult time. Our TCS Family is the BEST, hands down!
