Cheering On the Tornadoes This Fall: Expectations for TCS Athletic Events

Cheering On the Tornadoes This Fall: Expectations for TCS Athletic Events
August 20, 2026

Friday Night Is Almost Here. Let’s Make It a Great One.

Football returns to Frost-Kalnow Stadium this week. The Tornadoes open the home schedule Friday night against Fremont Ross, and there’s nothing quite like the first home game. The stands fill up, the band brings the noise, the flag squad and cheerleaders put on a show and our players get to compete in front of the people who matter most to them.

Everyone on that field has earned their stage. The players, the band, the flag squad, the cheerleaders, all of them have been putting in early mornings, late practices and long weeks since the middle of summer. The best thing our crowd can do is match that effort with energy that lifts them up.

To keep game nights safe and enjoyable for everyone, here’s what we ask at all TCS athletic events:

  • Bring positive school spirit. Cheer loud, applaud outstanding play, even by the visitors, and conduct yourself in a courteous and sportsmanlike manner.
  • Keep it classy. No derogatory remarks toward players, coaches, officials or fans. Be the role model that encourages everyone around you to do the same.
  • Elementary aged students should attend with a supervising adult. Safety and supervision come first.

And a few specifics for football nights at Frost-Kalnow:

  • Be in the stands once the game begins. Students may socialize behind the stadium and near the high school building before the game, at halftime and after the final whistle. During play, everyone should be watching from the bleachers. That’s where the atmosphere is anyway!
  • The hill beneath the roped off areas is for adults only. Students should find their spot in the stands.
  • Leave footballs and any other projectiles at home.
  • The track and field turf are for essential personnel only. Students and adults not involved with the football team, the band, the flag squad or the cheer squad, and not carrying a credential, should be in the bleachers.

Our students and families consistently show up and show out on Friday nights. These kids spent all summer getting ready for this one. Be part of it.

See you Friday. Wear your navy blue and gold!
